TDMA

Perhaps the best-known V-SAT network architecture is the (TDMA) Time Division Multiple Access network, which is used around the world for low speed (30 Kbps -128 Kbps) data. communications, such as credit card processing and verification, point-of-sale inventory control and general business data connectivity. That allows flexibility and speed.

SCPC

SCPC is a point-to-point & multipoint technology, making it the V-SAT equivalent to conventional leased lines. SCPC is used for economical distribution of two way duplex or simplex data. broadcasting for audio, video and data communications. In an SCPC system configuration, user data is transmitted to the satellite continuously.

DAMA

A DAMA system is typically a single hop satellite transmission network, which functionally allows direct connection between any two nodes in a network among many users sharing a limited"pool" of satellite transponder space. DAMA supports full mesh, point-to-point or point-to- multipoint communications.

CDMA

CDMA is a method of multiplexing (wireless) users by distinct (orthogonal) codes. All users can transmit at the same time, and each is allocated the entire available frequency spectrum for transmission. CDMA is also known as spread- spectrum multiple access SSMA. CDMA does not require the Bandwidth allocation of FDMA, or the time synchronization of the individual users needed in TDMA. The allocated bandwidth for a CDMA user increases or decreases based on the active number of users at any point in time.

SCPC/DVB

SCPC/DVB is widely used for access to internet services. Under this technology option, data is transmitted via an SCPC link and is received through a DVB platform. A DVB platform can be shared by many users and sites, which can be increased or decreased depending on the allocated bandwidth capacity. Most high bandwidth users opt for the use of an SCPC/DVB technology for their internet service requirements. This is considered as an economical solution; as it is shared through a DVB platform, whilst still providing the end user with high download speeds.

iDirect

ATT offers iDirect Technology services. iDirect is an independent optional satellite platform. iDirect provides high-speed bandwidth and satellite connectivity using various network hubs [NOC’s] throughout the world. iDirect differs from other SAT in that they offer consistent high-speed uploads and greater network throughput which translates to the ability to offer excellent VoIP and VPN services.
